Isabeli Fontana: MANGO S/S '11

Hello my Lovelies;

The new Spring/Summer campaign starring the beautiful Isabeli Fontana; "Boarding Pass" portray our model as a chic traveller, waiting for her flight and still looking as stylish as ever in her various ensembles.

Mango captures many of this seasons trends perfectly: floral prints, blouses and slim fitted trousers and that luscious irresistible cherry red color that gives an alluring pop to any outfit!

Pakistan Fashion Week 2011

Hello My Lovelies;

Unbeknown to most of us, Pakistan is seeking to lay down strong roots in the style stakes of the global fashion market and rightly so. The Third annual fashion week in the Country's history kicked off last week in Lahore and is organized by the Pakistan Fashion Design Council.

Over 35 designers showcased their collections, many of them pushing the traditional boundaries with more contemporary, maybe even controversial designs. Below is a roundup of some of my favorite images.

Above: Karma's collection was dainty and captured the essence of Spring perfectly
Above: Sublime by Sara Shahid: vivid orange and yellow ensembles captured the reoccurring hot orange trend we have been seeing on runways this season

Above: Mohsin Ali: The Princess and the Pea with jeweled quilting, rainbow primaries and head dresses

Above: Fahad Hussayn: dubbed as Pakistan's "Goth McQueen." His black and metallic collection was inspired by the cave goddess of Portugal; "Moura"

Above: Khaadi Khaas embraced summer prints perfectly
Above: Nickie Nina. Bright floral prints balanced out perfectly with the traditional attire worn by Sindh Women

I think this proves that Pakistan is steady becoming recognized for its fashion forward stance and amazing creations.

Kate Moss & Harper's Bazaar May 2011

Hello my Lovelies;

Kate Moss will grace the covers of the May edition of Harper's Bazaar with a special double cover edition, as a tribute to the late Lee Alexander McQueen.

Kate Moss is dressed in Alexander McQueen and in one of the images she wears the same ruffled organza dress she wore during the finale of McQueen's Autumn/Winter 06; Widows of Culloden Show in which she was turned into a hologram. The second image sees Moss sporting a stunning white gown from Sarah Burton's first collection. The simple yet indeed powerful images were taken by photographer; Solve Sundsbo

Within the magazine, Kate stars alongside fellow McQueen muses; Daphne Guinness and Annabelle Neilson, All wearing McQueen creations and are captured in breathtaking images.

Kate opens up about the late designer and close friend; "He gave women power, while letting them be fragile and vulnerable at the same time. People always used to say he was a misogynist, but it took me a while to realise that he was actually empowering women and not the other way around."

She continues, "There’s never ever going to be anybody like him. His was the most exciting show to see ever, even if you weren’t there. I would hear about it on the phone and hear Lee and hear everyone. There was so much tension, but we had the best laughs. He was a dear friend of mine. I miss him terribly."

There was only one Alexander McQueen.

Star Studded Preview: H&M Fashion Against Aids Collection

Hello my Lovelies;

H&M; the swedish clothing giant is preparing to launch their annual Fashion Against AIDS collection, this being its fourth year. 25% of all sales go to supporting AIDS research, relief and educational efforts around the world.

The long awaited collection is to launch in stores April 26.
Selma Blair, Penn Badgley, Keri Hilson, Sky Ferriera, Akon, Nikki Reed, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scissor Sisters, Shiloh Fernandez and The Misshape are among the celebrities involved in this year's unisex collection.

“We wanted to create a unisex collection with a sporty vibe. It felt really liberating to think of the cut, the shape and the fabric first before thinking of what gender it should be for. Key pieces are the slogan T-shirts as well as the sports style jacket with zip details, which can be worn in all sorts of ways. FAA is vital because it is still so crucial to make young people aware of HIV and AIDS,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design at H&M

"I think it’s really fitting that this collection is androgynous in style since the disease affects both men and women. It’s a universal thing and we are all in this together. It’s a disease that can be avoided and it’s especially tragic when our ignorance keeps us from safety.” - Selma Blair.

Fashion Fool

Hello my Lovelies;

So we all remember this time last year when the fashion blogs were going insane with the "news" that Chanel were to do a collaborative line with American discount retail giant Target. As amusing as that would be, we were not fooled, or were we..

So, lets round up some of this years fashion fools..

FashionweekNYC had a fake tweeting frenzy today, confirming that Lauren Conrad had just been appointed head designer of Christian Dior ! Oh and Tom Ford was to design a capsule collection for H&M - I knew that sounded too good to be true!

LDN Fashion announced that former head designer of Christian Dior; John Galliano would be revamping the George line for U.K supermarket chain Asda for his big comeback with three new capsule collections named, John, Paul and Ringo...! Indeed!
