Shoe Crush: Charlotte Olympia

Hello my Lovelies;

After seeing my girl crush; socialite Olivia Palermo rocking the Charlotte Olympia Alice leopard booties from her Fall 2010 collection back in February I have developed an even bigger Shoe crush on Charlotte Olympia and her new collection named Rio!

Upon graduating from Cordwainers, the London It-girl; Charlotte Olympia Dellal launched her namesake footwear label back in 2006. The half-Brazilian, half-English designer's creations are inspired by the glamour of the 1940s, and her bold statement-making sandals and boots have proved a hit with many such as Kate Moss, Blake Lively and Olivia Palermo as they can add an a hint of exotic glam to any outfit. 

When asked what her design signature is, she replied "Classic high heels with a modern silhouette in a rainbow of colours and with plenty of leopard print.”

How would you describe the Charlotte Olympia woman? 
“Someone who dresses from the feet up!” 

Name three things that are inspiring you for autumn/winter 2011:
“Porcelain, Persian rugs and Agatha Christie."

This season, we are seeing a return of the slogan chic made popular by the House of Holland back in 2007, however this time designers are its doing it with a bold sense of irony;

Vivienne Westwood; Get a Life, Art Lovers Unite tote, referring to her art manifesto Active Resistance to Propaganda 

Moschino Cheap and Chic; Simple with the word Smile or the Ironic Iconic Bionic tee, referring to the labels signature vivacious style

Wildfox; only naturally. A collection from Wildfox without a slogan thrown in would be incomplete

What does everyone think of the return of this trend? unfortunate faux pas or should we embrace with open arms and dig out our old slogan tees..

Anna Wintour for Wall Street Journal

Hello My Lovelies;

The illustrious legend that is Anna Wintour, editor of VOGUE US will grace the covers of April's issue of Wall Street Journal.

Mario Testino photographed the British-born editor-in-chief of American Vogue, capturing her trademark bob cut and sunglasses for the cover, along with her infallible styled Prada dress.  The simple and modest image sums up everything we find synonymous with Ms Wintour; fashion at its best.

Within the issue, Anna's power and total dominace over the fashion world is explored, featuring interviews with some of her closest fashion friends and confidantes, including designer; Marc Jacobs.

I very much look forward to reading the whole article, Ms Wintour is such an inspiration to all us fashion forward beings!

My first post, how very exciting! 

I always wondered what my first post would be like, so lets start as we mean to go on, with a heartfelt and genuine introduction! My name is Ash aka GlamGirl and after months of consideration, I finally decided to do it, put all that energy to good use and start blogging. My inspiration has been all the hundreds of blogs I read every day and how each one contributes to those thoughts and ideas going round in ones head which manage to take on some beautiful form such as a new ensemble, look or way of life!
